How to Unleash Your Inner Scribe
By Randi Chapnik Myers of The Momoir Poject
Wednesday April 28, 2010
7:00pm - 9:00pm
Randi Chapnik Myers, mom to three kids, left her law career behind when she enrolled in a memoir class at Harvard University. That led to a life as a freelance writer/editor for various publications including Today's Parent, The Globe and Mail, MoneySense, More Magazine, and others. She also writes web content for corporations, helps clients write books, and just wrapped up the season in her hockey mom blog, Tales from the Ice. In her spare time, Randi teaches women to write their motherhood stories - the experiences you cherish but never seem to have the time or courage to get down on paper (www.themomoirproject.com)
Come out and meet Randi on April 28 at 7pm where she will speak on the topic of How to Unleash Your Inner Scribe.
Within our shared experience of motherhood, there are a wide array of stories we say we will remember for life, but know we won't unless we write them down. No matter your age or stage of motherhood, Randi will help you tap into your wealth of stories - from relationships with your parents, to marriage issues, parenting dilemmas, work-life balance, birth, death and everything in between. So bring a big, beautiful notebook and a couple of pens (in case she runs out!) and get ready to write.

Social Safety – Keeping yourself and your Kids safe on social media
By Sherri Rossi of Findability Solutions
Thursday March 11, 2010
7:00pm - 9:00pm
Hotel Indigo Toronto Airport
The way we do business today is changing. We are expected to find new, creative ways of doing things including networking through various Social Media sites. Along with this comes the transparency that is necessary to let others see the “inside personality” of your business.
Also changing is the way our children network. Long gone are the days when our kids talk for hours on the phone until we pick up the extension and say “the time is up, get off the phone!”. Now they are on the computer talking to existing friends and making new ones. Their transparency is also expected and growing, making them susceptible to the lurking dangers and possible mistakes of online life.
Sherri will highlight specific safeguards when using popular social tools like Facebook and Twitter. She will discuss ways to use these sites effectively and safely. Learn to be proactive about broaching these topics with your children.
Sherri Rossi is the Co-Founder and Social Media Specialist at Findability Solutions, Inc. Sherri brings with her more than 10 years of experience as a Human Resources and Training Specialist working with privately held, non-profit, and Fortune 500 companies. Her passion lies in building relationships, social networks and knowledge within organizations.
Sherri holds a BA in Psychology and a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management. She is also a Certified Instructional Designer and Developer. She has experience working and building knowledge in her native Canada as well as Boston, Massachusetts and San Jose, California.
Sherri is a dedicated mother of two wonderful children who provide her with many opportunities to laugh and enjoy the wonder of growth and advancement. Someday, they will require this training and she will be ready to bring it on!
