What's New

Wondering what a chapter meeting is like?

enterprising-women

Our chapter meeting typically lasts for 2 hours.  The format consists of:

- 45-min Speaker Presentation
- 15-min Networking Break
- 45-min Small Group Discussion

The collaborative small group discussionsetting allows you to share your success stories and inspiration, brainstorm for ideas and suggestions, ask for feedback, and support other mom entrepreneurs with your own resources and experience.  We believe that more heads are better than one!  The collective group can usually come up with pretty creative ideas for solving your particular issue or problem, and if you need further assistance, you are more than welcome to request for a follow-up, and tap into the Enterprising Moms Network's collection of advisors, coaches, and resources.

Whatever the stage of your business, we welcome you to join us at our Chapter Meeting next month.  First time guests always attend free-of-charge.  We look forward to learning about you and your business!

The Sunshine Coast chapter offers two meetings a month, please join us for our next one:

    Evening Meeting

    Oct.27 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at The Cedar’s Inn

    Speaker: Roxanne Haddrell

Topic:  Tax issues - HST and EI For Self-Employed RoxanneIndividuals

We will start the evening by taking a look at how the HST will impact your business. How is the HST return completed? What items are subject to increased taxes? Is the tax rate lower on anything?

Next we will discuss the new EI measures for self-employed individuals. 2010 is the first year that entrepreneurs are able to opt-in to the Employment Insurance program. What are the costs? What are the alternatives?

Roxanne Haddrell has 12 years' experience in income tax preparation, most of them on the Sunshine Coast, as a tax preparer, as an office manager, and as a teacher. The necessity for annual training in this industry feeds Roxanne’s passion for learning. This, combined with helping clients, brings her great satisfaction. September 2009 saw Roxanne return to school, enrolled in the Accounting Assistant program at Capilano University in North Vancouver, where her hard work earned her a place on the Dean's List. Today, Roxanne operates her own Income Tax Preparation and Bookkeeping service while continuing to study accounting.
